5:4 or 4:3 Full HD Screen

I need to equip a very space-limited booth with a screen. At the Moment I'm using an old 4:3 1280*1024 screen, the size is perfect but the resolution sucks.

Are there any high-res (Full-HD; 1440*1080) screen on the market?

Nope, it's even limited in the height. It would be too tall.

It's fine and all when your talking about resolution but what are the Inches that you can place?

i mean, i don't think you can place a 25" 4:3 monitor if space is limited ( not that that exist i think)

Eizo Flexscan S2133-BK Is a high res 4:3 monitor but 21.3" 1600x1200 but that's the only one i could find

else it would be a 1280x1024

You can buy LCD panels (standalone) from sites like https://www.laptopscreen.com

 

Find some recent laptop model that has 4:3 or 5:4 display (I suggest looking at Lenovo, as they had the Thinkpad series)

Search for that model's lcd panel on that site

Find a compatible hdmi / dvi to lvds/whatever connector the lcd display converter board (ebay and aliexpress has them)

Profit?

You are absolutly right. ATM there is an 17" screen but since it's pretty old it has big bazzels, so it is around 19".

Then your pretty much limited to 1280x1024 and almost all of em are TN Panels:

I already have one of those TN 1280*1024 in use. Got it used for 5 bucks. Want to upgrade that

you are limited by space. Just accept that you will stay with the 1024p. I have an LG L1900R TN monitor as a second screen and it's still amazing for reading, coding or gaming.

It is used in a DJ-booth for light-control. 1024p is pretty bad for previewing lighting fixtures, can't accept that.

you know another option you may have is Massdrop. From time to time they drop 17 inch 1920*1080 monitors which look pretty decent like their last G-story 17" 120 Hz portable monitor. I really can't think of something better.

Oh yea i totally forgot Asus portable monitors

Asus MB169B+ is a 15.6"1920x1080 USB powered IPS Display

It's also auto rotating so Landscape or Portrait is fine

1280x1024 is 5:4 not 4:3. Maybe you could get a used 20" 1600x1200 4:3 monitor?

For example HP LP2065 is a pretty good old higher end monitor, I have the smaller 19" 5:4 (1280x1024 with VA panel) version and it does look a lot better than even new TN panels. There is two versions of the LP2065, IPS and VA.

Dell UltraSharp 2007FP is also a really good 4:3 monitor. There is both IPS and VA versions of it.
