Asus PB287Q a 28" 4K panel for $799!

Monitors are usually cheaper and have a better quality picture than TV's among other things.

well considering the only remotely decent sized 60 hz IPS 4k monitors are like 3,000$ right now it's not necessarily cheap :P

It's not IPS...

Yea but some TN monitors have good colours. Shame it's Asus though.

We have worked to tuned and source a great panel that will offer very good performance in varying degrees.

Based on initial hands on impressions I think many users will be satisfied with the quality and performance along with the benefits of native 60Hz operation and 1ms response time.

As always when it comes to panel sourcing, development and design there will be compromise in finding features, functionality, performance and projected price points.

Yes it is 4K at native 60Hz operation. Thanks for the view and support.

Thanks for the feedback I think you will be impressed even for a TN i was impressed by it being a native 10bit panel which will not fully being able to be leverage on TN still improves its performance.

Additionally viewing angles were surprisingly good.

Thanks for the view and support and stay tuned for more information.

Release is hopefully going to be sometime in late Q1 early Q2 ( end of March to early April ).

These are 3 little snips of comments on a video by PCDIY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7FeazlKTU4) who I presume works with ASUS

It might be the one of the good TN panels out there like the BenQ XL2420TE

Like I said thought, it's Asus so I won't buy it unless there are no problems with the monitor. I don't trust Asus after my XOnar D1 experience.

You dont trust their monitors because of a issue with a sound card? Check my setup, ive used ASUS monitors exclusivly since the PA246Q launched and have been very happy.

@kuddlesworth9419

I recently bought a pb278q refurb from newegg, it came 100% intact, with all the original contents.  I can't tell it's even been touched, it looks 100% perfect.

Not trusting a company over one bad experience is quite dumb imo.

I just don't want to spend a ton of money on something that I don't trust fully. I will still consider it though, if it's cheap enough and the reviews are favorable.

Should be and they should be too for the most part.
