Gaming laptop power trottling

So when i was using xtu and sressing my cpu it will be at 3.1ghz for 20 sec but then it will drop to 2.8 2.5ghz and it says its power trottling and idk why.

Gaming laptop  msi gl62m7rex

Temps 80c on cpu

60c on gpu

It's power throttling because it can't get the power it needs.

 

Undervolting your CPU in Intel XTU can solve this issue sometimes, and it will also help decrease your CPU temp under load.

But undervolting will decrease permormance tho or i can make my fans run at 100 percent and btw the fans spin 30 percent.

Undervolting doesn't decrease performance, it will decrease heat output which will therefore allow the CPU to run at a higher clockspeed. 

 

I undervolted my CPU a bit and max temp decreased around 12C, while the turbo speed increased as well.

The only risk of undervolting is crashing if you go too low for stable operation.
