When choosing a laptop, considering 8th gen u series processors, though i7 has six more hyper threads, does it in real world really matter.i know it matter but by how much percentage more both in gaming and rendering works including music production.should i really pay that extra cash for saving just a littile time?i dont know, well thats why i am here.hope you guyz will help me.........and does a 1060 6gb card really require any pannel with more than 60hz like 120hz or even 144hz? Guess you guyz can help me...thank you_/^¤^\_

rendering works: a heck lot. gaming: cores will do you better. it doesn't require a 120/144 hertz panel depending on the games you play. you can still run a 1070 ti with a 60 hertz panel like me, but you won't see frames higher than 60 hertz

I don't have any bob pictures

It all depends on your needs, in gaming you need cores, if you want to game AND stream you need threads too. It's not all about the how fast it's going to do it. If you want to try streaming on weaker CPU it may not be possible at all (given you want to streamon 1080p 60fps).

So yes, more powerful processor with higher thread count is always a good investment if you're going to do a lot of multitasking.

About the screen panels, it's again up to you, do you want better response from your screen ? Do you play competetive ? If the answer is yes, then going from 60 to 144hz will be like day and night for you. GPUs don't require specific stuff except having power supply.

The ultimate question is... does it matter to you? To some people, they feel they need high refresh rates or as many cores as they possibly can. For others, they don't really care as long as it has a screen, a keyboard, and an internet connection.

Figure out what you want and need. That's all that really matters.

I can't speak for gaming on a laptop but I own a Dell XPS 13 with the previous top of the line i7-7550U, my brother just got the new Razer Blade Stealth with the i7-8550U with Hyper Threading and for productivity, it has made leaps and bounds in performance over the previous 7th Gen i7. My brother also has the Razer Core with his 980Ti and he games on his Stealth. I don't know what his performance in games is but he is very happy with it.

Raw performance (multi core): CFL-H i7/i9 > CFL-H i5 > KBL-H i7 > KBL-R/CFL-U/Ryzen mobile APU > KBL-H i5. If you are willing to pay and to sacrifice some portability+battery life (you won't get Ultrabook like experience with powerful hardware), why not go for more powerful chips?

8750H/8850H and 8950HK (which is a useless chip) aren't necessary for gaming, 8300H will do just fine. Even KBL-R/CFL-U is fine for low-mid range GPUs. Choosing the right models is also important since cooling is an important factor now due to those inefficient chips. Tuning needs to be made for all new mobile CPUs

Keep in mind that some models with KBL-R/CFL-U/Ryzen mobile APU may have performance below KBL-H i5s due to worse firmware/BIOS and cooling

For gaming, I would always recommend high refresh rate panels. 1060 GPU can drive 120Hz/144Hz quite easy (depends on games though)

India,139k inr or 1lakh 39 thousand ruppes, weight  and battery life will never matter to me apparently ^▪^...but i would be happy to spend less mony on h series i5 proccesor if it aint that back of i7 h series (both 8th gen) in performance in gaming and rendering..thank you

You need i7 for max performance. You already did a thread on recommendations right?
