Unlocking an iphone 8 icloud

So, im planning on buying a second hand iphone 8 thats locked with icloud(no clue what that means). Is there a way to unlock it? I read about a few ways to unlock it but they look fake. What do you guys think, is there a way to unlock it 100%?

Why do you feel that it’s a stolen iPhone which kicked in activation lock?

In the past, there are ways to bypass iCloud authentication but iOS 11 and beyond made it significantly more difficult and I think at the moment there’s none and if it’s a stolen iPhone, the community standards dissuades users from giving tips to undermine data protection. I think even asking the forum how to pick a lock is not allowed.

If it has iOS 11 and above, chances are USB restricted mode already kicked in which means the OS no longer allows read/write on the lightning port.

There is no real way around the activation lock, only the corporate management system. iCloud lock is permanent, to unlock it you need to get into contact with the original owner, and Apple.

Just don't.

The only way to remove the activation lock is to have the original owner sign into their Apple ID Account and then manually sign out of all services on the phone.

So if you're buying locally, you could get the previous owner to do the sign-in/sign-out process when you pick it up (BEFORE YOU HAND THEM ANY MONEY). If they can't or won't unlock it? Run. Run for the hills.

You need to change the whole phone... to another phone... that isn't activation locked.

If you want to try this as an experiment, sure, go for it. But if you're doing this to get a working phone? Total waste of money.

Why persist?

You can reinstall iOS but the device just asks for the original iCloud account upon setup. iCloud lock is pretty darn tight.

That'd be your only option to get around it. But an iPhone 8 logic board for $50 sounds kinda fishy, and I'd look into how hard it is to replace the entire logic board, IIRC sometimes it can take microsoldering and stuff though not usually.
