Tips for upgrading my PC (bottlenecks)

RiShift

Hello I am looking for advice to maximize my gaming performance out of my rig. I currently have:

CPU I7 3770k 3.5ghz

RAM 16gb 1333mhz

SSD SATA SAMSUNG EVO 850

GPU GTX 980 4GB

I play 1080p gaming, with 144Hz monitor so would prefer to max out as much fps as I can out of my rig. So what is my bottleneck(s)? What effects and how much does everything affect except gpu?

I'm preferably not upgrading my gpu. I play wow, league of legends and new titles such as far cry 5

Since your CPU is old, it's gonna be the only thing to hold your system back. 980 is basically a mid end GPU in terms of performance, so perhaps a more modern i5 would suit you

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

What about my slow ram? Does it affect gaming?

Nope, standard ddr3 speed. Ryzen scales a whole lot with fast ram, but Intel CPUs couldn't care less
