Should I get a 1080 or 1070ti? 1080p

Jedibrysen

Right now I have a 1060-6gb ($130) that I’m selling g to put money towards a new GPU and I was wondering what I should upgrade to I want to get a used GPU on eBay for under $330 but all the used for GTX 1080s are $370 + $30 shipping! And I was asking if the 1070ti and 1080 have a way little or big performance difference!?

my build right now is

3930k 4.2ghz

ASRock x79 Extreme 7

4x4gb 1600mhz ram

gtx 1060-6gb

750watt power supply

120mm case fan

200mm Case fan

360mm liquid cooler

Samsung 860 Evo

so should I spend the extra $70 for a 1080 or get a 1070ti or get a even higher gpu?

1070ti is just 5% slower than the 1080.

Haha I used to have a 3930k!  Good times.  The answer to your question is entirely based on what sort of display you're rocking right now.  At 1080p honestly a 1070ti will be more than enough.  1440p 1070ti will hold its own but not in the higher end triple A games.  At 4k, you really want a 1080, it'll push 40s-60s in practically every game, with your set up too as I used to use an ROG Strix 1080 back then.

tldr: You really only need it for pushing 4k games.

The 1070ti is much better value and is virtually the same as the 1080 with slightly lower clock speed and vram, so I would go for the 1070ti

No reason to break the bank then, unless you plan on futureproofing your pc or upgrading displays in the future.  1070ti is all you need right now at least.

I’m getting a new cpu like I. Next 6 month (8700k) and I think 1070ti will be enough

Cool, intel is coming out with new CPUs in the next month though, you may want to go for that (and the new Z390 chipsets that come with it).

Good luck!

I have a 1070 and I have 60 fps constant in every game I play in 1080p with ultra settings.

for 1080p I would say a 1070 is enough, even a 1060 would fit your needs, but a 1070 would be more futur proof.

If you say you will keep the card for 5 years in 1080p, go with 1070ti or 1080 as games will be more greedy in the near futur

in that case you can go higher yeah for sure a 1070 will struggle to deliver 144 fps unless yuo drop settings to medium or low idk :P

I'm still poor with a 60 hz monitor 1080p tough life man
