Posted September 25, 2018 Hi, I have recently upgraded my pc and bought gtx 1080. I have 24" 1080p g-sync monitor from AOC. Nowadays I am thinking about buying 27" 1440p monitor with g-sync, but I am not sure if the experience will be as enjoyable as it is on 1080p monitor. From what I have heard, it is amazing. But is it as big of a deal as it is changing from 60hz to 144hz ? As that was life-changing experience. I am not ultra setting freak and I mostly play competetive shooters and AAA titles from time to time which I am ok to play without having stuff maxed. Will I be satisfied by the change in quality more then bugged by loss of 30-40 fps ? Also , are there any upcoming monitors that are worth waiting for ? as I am looking at Dell S271DG atm and it is below 500euros which is pretty good price here (Slovakia). Posted September 25, 2018 Most likely won't notice the fps drop. The 1080 is more than capable of pumping out > 144fps even in modern games at 1440p. Posted September 25, 2018 Your GPU is probably better suited for 1440p depending on what speed your CPU is running at. You can notice a difference and g-sync will help too with demanding titles.
