I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card

Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade my Graphics card and I have my eye on the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB. The current parts in my PC are:

- ASRock - 980DE3/U3S3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

- AMD - FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor

- Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit

Are my parts compatible with the GTX 1070?

I would upgrade CPU first. FX6300 will heavily bottleneck 1070ti.

Its compatible, but in most cases the 1070 will perform like a 1060 or 1050 because the CPU is so slow.

 

FX-8350 has problems getting 100% performance out of RX 560 or GTX 1050 at 1080p.

Your CPU is too slow for 1070ti, it will never reach 100% load and you will loose alot of FPS. And likely you will get stuttering.

There is no upgrade option for your board, it is a dead end platform.

 

You can change over to i7-2600/3770k and keep your memory, but you still need a MB/CPU.
