Well, price seems scammy but the text seems genuine

I'd probably hit them up and see if you can meet them to see how it works

*in before it's a stolen laptop*

From the add - "I was given this to me by my company while away on work as i do work abroad and left my machine at home but needed one for business so they gave me this to do my work but now is no longer needed."

Oh, so they just GAVE it to you and don't want it back, huh?  Cuz that's how companies make money, giving away laptops...

He also has the serial number blocked out, which, if stolen, would be able to be used to determine if it was in fact stolen.

I would contact him for the serial number since its blocked on the listing. If they give you the number you can contact apple and ask if the device has been flagged as stolen.

hmmm.... I'm pretty sure the company would want that mac back if he no longer needs it..... and he has blurred the serial number so you cant even check if its stolen without seeing it in person.

I asked him about the serial number and this is what he said:

"No sorry no serial number will be shared nor will a picture of the receipt they can both be seen on collection and in that way I know no one can use the serial number to claim a free replacement as it’s still under warranty and also no one can use my receipt photo for there own add. No offence to you mate I’ve just been selling to long not to be bummed over. "

Lol. either see it in person and run a check while you're there or just steer clear of it. seems dodgy to me...

So your saying its not a scam but therefore could be stolen?

Apple will not allow you to claim a warranty replacement without the device itself. Also, they require proof of ID, or purchase. So, it sounds like it is most likely stolen or he is trying to scam someone.

Who knows.  All I'll say is that story that was quoted is totally believable to me
