Ssd cache for game/storage drive

Docretier

Would getting a small capacity ssd to use as a cache drive for my game storage drive give me better load times?

Yes, assuming you have the right software to enable that caching functionality.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

I just have the games i play currently on the ssd, and the other less frequent games on hdd. When i get a new game i install it on ssd, and when i dont play it anymore i move it to hdd.

That in my opinion is a better idea than to deal with the caching softwares.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

RST still a thing? I used to have a SSD cache but to be honest it was a bit meh.

Can I ask, what is your current storage set up?

If you want my advice, I would move the games you are actively playing to the SSD. I wouldn't bother with an SSD cache unless you have a spare SSD laying around or you if you want to tinker.
