Headphone and sound card for around 400

ive never had a sound card before so i dont know exactly what to look for. i play mostly fps games, but i also spend a lot of time listening to music and watching videos. For my price range i was thinking about the xonar essence stx and the sennheiser 595s. Can anyone tell me if this is a good idea or possibly recommend me something different in the same price range.

i just bought the xonar essence stx. I'm now looking into getting sennheiser hd 598s

can't wait to see how you enjoy the experience. proper soundstage with FPS games is just priceless.
