Will a Pentium g4560 handle Plex 1080p transcoding

SkyForCe

Hey guys,

Will the Intel Pentium g4560 be able to handle transcoding of 2 simultaneous 1080p with a bitrate of about 9000kBit/s

CPU

Intel Pentium G4560                35,00
RAM 8 GB - HyperX Fury                58,99
Mainboard Gigabyte GA B350M                31,12
PSU EVGA 600W 80+ WHITE                49,99

Case Thermaltake Versa H22                30,99
SSD Crucial MX500 -256GB                52,92

Thanks in advance,

SkyForCe

Did you mean B250 motherboard? B350 is AMD

The CPU will handle 2x 1080p transcodes just fine.

I think hardware encoding is gonna be really tough on a pentium. Good luck.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Typo, yes I meant B250.

Good to hear that. Probably won't ever happen, but just in case. Most likely there will be maximum 3 people where either 3 direct stream or 2 direct steam and 1 transcode.

I can tell you for sure a stock 5820k cannot handle a single 4k HDR stream on plex c:

Highly doubt it. You can nab an old i7 for less than a new Pentium though. A 2700 would work fine.

Well, I can get a used Pentium for 30$ and that uses less power and doesn't get as hot.

Also there won't be any 4K streams and also no 4k transcoding. Just 1080p for max 3 users.

That should work right? Hope so.

No, it won't. Just spend $40 for an i7.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!
