I am currently a new pc gamer in my first year still learning the craft of the trade for pc gaming and upgrading I would really appreciate some help figuring out what is bottlenecking my pc I will list the specs down below. :3

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ibuypower-desktop-amd-fx-series-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-1tb-hard-drive-black-red/5600304.p?skuId=5600304

GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 3GB CPU: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor Memory: 8 GB RAM

The main reason why I am doing this is that when I play rust I always take half an hour to load it unless I am overclocking (also I get 50fps)

if you can find a what I need to replace that would be nice :3

Willing to spend up to $300 to fix my problem but I would prefer to spend around 150-200

Your CPU and storage are the issues. You could get a 250gb SSD for pretty cheap (like $50-$60) or a 500gb for around $90. A CPU upgrade would cost more though... how much are you willing to spend?

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I'd say the processor especially if it's not OC-ed and probably that mechanical hard drive you're using.

Disclaimer: I have no experience with "newish" AMD stuff. Before Ryzen last AMD CPU I assembled was from the AM2 era. :D

Any other games you play where you see some performance issues?

If you plan to upgrade state your budget. So how much are you willing to spend?

I'm assuming your in North America -- probably the U.S. of A. -- since you bought this iBUYPOWER PC from Best Buy?

Also any future games you want to play?

Depending on your answers, you can most certainly keep using the 1060 at least.

Also ther's another user here planning to upgrade and he has similar PC specs as yours. You might want to check that out as well:

CPU: Sempron 2500+ / P4 2.8E / P4 2.6C / A64 x2 4000+ / E6420 / E8500 / i5-3470 / i7-3770
GPU: TNT2 M64 / Radeon 9000 / MX 440-SE / 7300GT / Radeon 4670 / GTS 250 / Radeon 7950 / 660 Ti

With just a 1060 3 Gb, the bottleneck is the GPU. Get a SSD and another 8 Gb of memory, but that is the end of that platform.  Can look to OC the CPU a little, but it's not going to change much.

Rust is a badly optimized game that'll bring a 1080 Ti to a crawl, so that isn't too surprising.

your cpu is legit garbage. Any FX series CPU is trash. Get a ryzen 2200g for $100, and a matching mobo and ram. Good for 2-4 years

14900K, RTX 5090 (360mm AiO), 64GB RAM, 4K 144Hz OLED
