Power is a concern. Right now I'm in my parent's house and they have solar, and I won't pay extra for power in halls but when I move into a flat probably in second or third year, I will be paying for my power.

yeah okay then older cards are not a good option for you. if i had to guess i'd say my 290X pulls about 250 - 300W so... and that's just the card. my rig when gaming pulls 500W or more.

Yeah I use a lot less than that. My CPU under full load uses only 80W and I reckon my GPU uses less than 150W right now under load and I don't want something massively more powerful which is kind of why I've not really looked at AMD cards. Love AMD CPUs but their GPUs are normally pretty power hungry

or you can buy a used 1060 and then sell it when 2060 arrived.

with 2070 $599, i predict 2060 would be around $399.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

so you get something back for the power consumption...

True but that's also quite an old card that will cost me more in the long run. I'd rather stick to 10 series, 20 series or maybe wait for Navi
