I5 7600k ocd to 4.2 and msi duke 1080 oc edition

I have the i5 7600k and msi duke 1080 oc edition and I think I need to upgrade to a i7 9700k, my cpu is basically new maybe half a year old but I think I’m experiencing bottleneck while streaming overwatch all low settings I get maybe 100 FPS which is terrible considering I saw a streamer named aimbotcalvin he has a 1070 with a i7 and gets 200 FPS while streaming can I really be experiencing 100 FPS bottleneck I really care about my gaming experience that’s why I was wondering if it’s my cpus problem or maybe a hdd problem idk what else it could be

You'd get a nice performance boost from a Ryzen 5 2600x at a much lower cost than the 9700k.

I don’t plan on using amd, I go for intel because they are just better in general. But is their a way to see my performance increase?

don't neglect amd, not true that they are worst, also check what they have to offer in the same price brackets as the 9700k, you might be surprised.

It comes out in October and I personally just don’t like amd when intel usually is superior I had a amd Radeon hd 7850 2gb in my first build but I could’ve gotten a better pc if I knew what I was doing 4-5 years ago when I was 13-14

Intel is superior when it comes to gaming. When you throw things like streaming into the mix, AMD has more cores which is more useful. Especially with the recently released chips, with greater memory support. The fact you chose the wrong parts doesn't mean AMD is bad.

while I disagree that, I admit that Intel is faster when it comes to games, when overclocked high. 4.2GHz is quite low for an overclock, so low that it couldnt pull away from Ryzens.

Not saying I hate it. It’s just a opinion. And I looked it up 4.2 is the highest a 7600k can go and I do stream which always maxes out my cpu a game takes 50-90 then streaming takes 15-20, so my cpu can barley handle a stream but the i7 9700k is rumored to have 8 core and 8 threads which is 2x if not more better then my current cpu

AMD is actually better when it comes to use scenarios like streaming specifically because of their higher core count than intel per price category.

at stock, yes

 

Kaby Lake maxes at about 5GHz, while regularly doing 4.8GHz. Safe voltage should be 1.4v max. Give that a try

 

not saying 9700k is bad, but it's definitely not as good value as Ryzen

Will this increase my FPS 50-100 as this post originated I think I have bottleneck because aimbotcalvin the twitch streamer gets 200 FPS while streaming overwatch I get 100 while streaming overwatch I even did the same settings still mine is worse but he has a i7

You should probably look into other ways of streaming that aren't so CPU intensive. IIRC there are methods that are more GPU dependent.

No. You likely need more threads. Hence why he's doing better with the i7.

If I knew how to make it more gpu dependent with Streamlabs obs I would. Also he has the 8600k which has 6 cores and 12 threads but as for me waiting for the new one is also better

The 8600k does not have 12 threads. It's not hyperthreaded.

if you are upgrading anyway wait for the 9900k, pretty much your only choice for gaming since you pretty much need hyperthreading.

i mean you are talking about something as niche as upgrading from a 7600k, so it's either upgrade to a 8700k now or 9900k later, personally trying to cheap out 100dollars on a build has almost always came back to bite. I think in your case either don't upgrade (and overclock the 7600k)or go for the 9900k.
