ThinkPad X1 Extreme or ThinkPad p52s

I think I have narrowed my search of laptops down to these two. I will be editing videos on them using Premiere Pro and sometimes AVID.

What do you think? The X1 Extreme was literally released days ago and looks good. GTX 1050ti 4GB, vs the Quadro P500 2GB in the P52s.

Which would be more beneficial for editing video? I will be getting about £200 off these from the student discount btw.

p1 extreme looks to be throttling as hard as a MBP from just looking at the dimensions and a P52s is a ULV U series so not really that good (I get ~550-650 CB with my i5 8350u, T480, ~2.8GHz all core, might be a bit more with the P52s because it's larger)

none, too expensive, low specs, just get a gaming laptop for best price/perf and when it dies in a couple of years time buy another with the money you saved.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Both have weak cooling (X1 Extreme is worse)

Budget? Preferred max weight and minimum battery life?

I've lost faith in most modern laptops, they all have shit cooling...

My t480 gets 85-95c under CPU only at 2.8GHz, and it's a thick ultrabook... don't talk about GPU + CPU loads; 1GHz CPU throttling.

That's a normal result FYI. Also T480 is considered slightly on the thinner side

I'm calling it a thick ultrabook.

modern ultrabooks barely house a USB port, this one houses a ethenet. It's not thick by my standards but it's competing in the ultrabook market, it's thick for that market.

No reviews for X1 Extreme, but expect bad temps in such form factor
