Heej everyone!

I bought a laptop for school and it's great. except when I game (or just intensive tasks) it gets easily up to 80-85 degrees celsius, both my cpu and gpu.

So my question is, what is too hot? And what are the consequences of high tempertures?

Thanks for reading!

That is most certainly normal in a laptop. What some folks will do is undervolt their CPU to save some power which usually reduces temps a bit. Do a quick Google and you should find a workable solution for your CPU.

To answer your question: too high temperatures can shorten the lifespan of your hardware.
Laptops are generally prone to running hot, though. Don't be too afraid of overheating, your laptop will just thermal throttle if you're getting into dangerous territory.
