Why do people actually like linear switches?

I've typed and did a demo game on reds, romer-g's, and blacks, and I've come back hating all of them, and actually perfer my blues for everything, why do people like linear switches?

Well, it is a question of taste. I like membrane keyboard. A good membrane keyboard, delivers a nice tactile feedback, register properly the keys as they are pressed, even lightly on the edge of the key, and they are quite. Durability is of course another story. But I would take short durability over noisy keys any days now. To add, I also hate the traditional raised key design. When I type fast, I don't lift my fingers all the way, preventing me from hitting the correct key when you have the raised keys. and end up having dry skin on the tip of my fingers as I rub the finger on each key edges. So laptop keyboard design for the win, for me. (well, a really good one.. not the shit that most laptop have, but I mean't  in terms of design)

 

It is a question of personal taste and how one types.

I like reds for typing because the noise the caps make bottoming out and how easy it is to push down keys

Most linear switches feel like typing on a sponge. Only super light linear is ok. Lighter than Cherry red. I'm talking like Gateron clear or lighter. At that point the bottom out feels tactile and it's ok.  But I actually dislike the feel clicky switch much more. So I'll stick with pure tactile switches.
