Yes i am looking for pros and cons.

 

Its so we can connect to servers out side the building so working from home.

PPTP is old and not secure. How many people are looking to VPN into your servers? Take a look at openVPN. It's free

PPTP doesn't offer any encryption whatsoever. You should be looking at L2TP, SSTP or OpenVPN as your options. OpenVPN would be my pick as I use it daily and it's easy enough to setup. All people need is the openvpn client, the profile and a username/password combo. A certificate is optional.

What network equipment do you have already?

 

Don't use PPTP.  I assume you don't have any business or Enterprise grade equipment either.

 

Usually a vendor based ssl client like anyconnect (Cisco asa) are pretty standard.  You can roll openvpn as per others if you have spare vm capacity or something.

 

If you have 2 or less concurrent users, openvpn access server is probably the easiest one to set up.

Thank you for your comments L2TP  seems good. Easy to setup on a 2012 Server
