Hey Guys,
Posting on this forum after 3 years now,

So I'm really excited, I got into college and got a Dell Inspiron 15 7577. It's got an i7-7700HQ and a GTX 1050Ti with 16GB RAM.

So I been using MacBook Pro before this and I love it more than windows 10 but my college work requires windows as it has windows exclusive applications and also I intend to do some gaming as well. But I dont want to leave macOS. So I was hoping to have a separate partition with macOS too.

My system in 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD setup. ( I intend to have a partition of 300GB reserved for that).

So I was hoping this forum could guide me through all the pros, cons and the procedure to go ahead with this. Also please suggest reliable sites.

Discussing anything related to Hackintosh is prohibited due to some legal stuff. Ask around on TomsHardWare or Google your query.

This is really not the forum to discuss hackintosh.

The mods usually closed topic like this before i can reply.

Well, actually, according to the edit on August 6th...

But yeah, this really isn't the forum to discuss Hackintosh, as there are much better forums out there for this, just like how I refer people to XDA-Developers for Android rooting & modification no matter what site they're on. You're going to get better assistance on a dedicated forum for such a niche topic, and believe me: as popular as the idea of hackintoshing is, it's definitely still pretty darn niche.

EDIT: The main reason I don't help with Hackintosh things anymore (not just here, but elsewhere too) isn't actually because Apple's prohibits the use of OSX on non-Apple hardware - it's because real life things like work, friends, family, and food take priority, so if I don't even have the time or patience to Hackintosh my own system, there's no chance I'll have time to help someone else with it either.

I'm just gonna say, this is a prime example of why we have the "no backseat moderation" rule.  A couple weeks ago they decided to revisit that rule and we were told to stop enforcing it until further notice.  Nothing is official yet but I'm pretty sure you'll see an update soonTM that changes the rule at long last to expressly permit them.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I hope my cat wasn’t backseat moderating.

I was wondering why this wasn’t locked for so long.

Is it just me or does (the) #1 hackintosh forums remind them of tomatoes?

I highly recommend hackintoshing. It's great to be able to use and appreciate macOS without having to get an Apple computer. One of the obstacles is that it's a little bit complicated to setup (it's usually harder for laptops).

Here's a guide you can follow for your laptop:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-dell-15-5577-works-with-10-13-2.241795/

You might have to replace the Wi-Fi card, or get a USB dongle that supports macOS.

But, is there a reason why you're not going to use the Macbook anymore?

🙂
