Posted August 2, 2018 I'm building a server for hosting games like; Eldewrito (Halo 3 for PC), Minecraft, Gmod, and Possibly CS:GO. But also for just storing my videos. I'm sure a 5,400 RPM is fine for that purpose. Here are the specs for said build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/TOG_WAS_HERE/saved/DMYTBm CPU: AMD - FX-8350 4GHz 8-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - DK9-7G52A-0L-GP 27.1 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus - M5A78L-M PLUS/USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard Memory: Corsair - XMS3 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory Storage: Kingston - A400 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital - Red 4TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive Storage: Western Digital - Mainstream 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Case: Nanoxia - Deep Silence 4 (Black) MicroATX Mini Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair - VS 400W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply Optical Drive: Asus - DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer Wired Network Adapter: TP-Link - TG-3468 PCI-Express x1 10/100/1000 Mbps Network Adapter I'll be using Amazon to buy everything so ignore the shipping prices. Good enough? Thanks.

Posted August 2, 2018 It might be worth it to buy a used xeon server instead. Want to know which mobo to get? Spoiler Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need. Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you. chEcK iNsidE sPoilEr fOr a tREat! Posted August 2, 2018 I've been flipping used Xeon servers from about 2010-2011 (LGA1366) and if you can get a good deal on a dual X5650 server for a good price, it's more worth it with an added bonus of novelty. They can go around 200-300 USD if you can find a good deal. They perform 2x better for half the price of the system that you've listed. You can look around /r/homelabs or other places for advice or research before diving in. As for purchasing a server like this, you can look on eBay, Craigslist or /r/homelabsales for something like a R710 or R610 or on the HP side, a DL360 G7 or anything that ends with a G7 (7th Generation) CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600x | GPU GIGABYTE GTX 1070ti WINDFORCE | MOBO ASUS Prime X570-P | MEMORY XPG Spectrix 2x8GB 3200MHz | PSU OCZ Zx 850W | CASE NZXT H440
 I'd like to stay with a Micro ATX just because I found a really nice case for me, but I have the option to go to a bigger ATX
