cat 6 flar or round

xwrench3

i need to replace my son's ethernet cable, is there any advantage or disadvantage performance wise with a flat cable vs. round? he is a gamer, so he actually uses the high speed connection (up to 100mb/sec) more than the rest of us.

Both should be fine. A round cable probably has better shielding in place against crosstalk, but I doubt that'll be an issue.

Either or will work. You wouldnt know a different until you began taxing it out at 10gbps to see the difference.

Indeed, I certainly haven't had any problems with 10m flat cables at Gigabit speeds even if they seem rather thin in comparison.
