So i recently purchased the Cryorig R1 ultimate and while installing the screws on the cpu cooler lined up with the mounts installed on the motherboard, but the screwdriver they sent is not able to fit down into the screw (it’s a few CM off). does anybody know what i could’ve done wrong or if it is just the manufactures fault? i contacted newegg and they are going to send me a replacement but i would like to know if this is an issue anybody else has ran into with the cpu cooler. (i cant use a different screwdriver so please don’t suggest it.)

Why can't you use a different screw driver? If you could use the supplied one then you can probably manage to use any screwdriver you ever pick up

the clearance under the fan isn’t enough to fit a screwdriver, you have to go through the center of the cooler but the screws are under a non removeable part of the cooler, no screwdriver can reach the screws.

i can’t use the one they supplied, that’s the problem. the screwdriver can’t clear the cooler to screw the screws in, you know?

Remove the fans, they are just on little plastic clips. Just pull them right off and try that way.

i’ll try that once i get home from work, if it does not work it’s not a big deal because i have a refund pending with newegg. i can cancel if it works though.

yeah it’s exactly like that

The video shows the screwdriver is plenty long. Does yours look as long as the one shown in the video?

it’s not the screwdriver length.. it’s that the screw driver does not go straight down to the screws, the screw driver can reach but can not get into the screw because it does not line up

Have you tried twisting the cooler so that you have access to the screws?
You're sure you have the mounting plate oriented the right side up? They're different for Intel or AMD
