Surface Book 2 not detecting GPU in keyboard dock

suicidalfranco

I don't have this issue on my SurfaceBook 2.

Not sure why, but I guess always having the latest updates helps /shrug.

That being said: I would love to have no GPU in there.

Sadly the i7 (and the bigger drive) always comes with a GPU. All it adds is heat and nothing I use it for uses the GPU. Well, Chrome does, but that's about it.

So, any guide on how to "cause" this "bug", err... feature? Id love to get it! ;-)

Disable the dGPU in Optimus/drivers.

Or get someone to buy an i5 version and trade the bases.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

All Surface devices seems to be plagued with driver/firmware issues.

You forgot hardware.

Surface Pros have some of the worst reliability in a laptop with next to no warranty.

Surface book as a few of those issues but also carries over to the dock to the point adjusting the angle of the screen when GPU is at full load can cause interference to PCI and disconnect the GPU.

They are beautiful and well built machines but most seem lucky to make it over a year.
