Any case for Memtest86+ in addition to Memtest86?

 - I want to stress test my 8GB RAM on my Laptop.

 - I also want to stress test the RAM on my Desktop  - I will be adding 16GB RAM on top of my 8GB - I want to see if the result 24GB will not cause problems.

Both PC's have DDR3 memory and are 64 bit.

Is there any case for using Memtest86+ in addition to stress testing with Memtest86? Are there any pros to using Memtest86+? I will definitely be stress testing with Memtest86 anyways

Laptop ram does not work on your desktop. They're different sizes.

Sorry your post was confusing to read. Memtest is mainly used just for memory testing, that's it

My apologies.

memtest86 v7.5 is the one to use. But all memtest86 versions are more reliable in finding defective ram rather than stability.

If you want to test for stability try HCI-Memtest in several instances with dangwang script or Karhu Ramtest.
