wait you already bought the mobo? Then you have to stick with 8th gen. No more i5 this time.

Hello everybody! Hope you all have a good day in your lives.

This build will be my first build so Im a bit excited to build it lol. Its a budget build, all new except the GPU. Which I will look for a used  950.

Now I had plans for a gt1030 instead then I skipped it and said I wanted to go for the 1050ti, doe im finding some good prices for used 950

around 120-140$. Currently im living in Turkey and the prices here are way up. Brand new 950 goes a thick lower then the 1050ti which is

a bit funny aswell. So the goal here in this build is to play CS:GO / PUBG which the gpu is enough. 2GB of VRAM doe but it will do.

Now the prices in April was 550$ for this build. Now its 630-650$ and the prices goes up every single day. Dollar is literally killing us.

Anyway the pc specs are down below:

Motherboard: MSI 8th gen H310 Gaming Plus Intel 2666MHz (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/H310M-GAMING-PLUS.html)

CPU: i3-8100  (http://www.vatanbilgisayar.com/intel-core-i3-8100-soket-1151-3-6ghz-3mb-onbellek-14nm-islemci.html)

GPU: MSI GTX 950 2GB (https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GTX-950-GAMING-2G.html

RAM: G-Skill Ripjaws V 8 GB DDR4 2400MHz (http://www.vatanbilgisayar.com/gskill-8gb-ripjawsv-kirmizi-ddr4-2400mhz-cl15-12v-single-ram.html)

Case: Dark Sentinel (https://www.teknobiyotik.com/dark-sentinel-1xusb-3-0-2xusb-2-0-3x12cm-fanli-fan-kontrolculu-akrilik-yan-panel-mid-tower-siyah-oyuncu-kasasi-dkchsentinel.html)

PSU: Cooler Master 500W 80+ (https://www.itopya.com/cooler-master-masterwatt-lite-500w-80-plus-aktif-pfc-120mm-fanli-psu/)

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB (https://www.itopya.com/seagate-35-1tb-barracuda-sata-30-7200rpm-64mb-210mb-s-okuma-harddisk/)

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit

Now I put some links next to the components for an idea. I kinda want to make it a Red and Black Combination which would look nice and fit well :)

Now have some Questions

1) I would want some tips maybe when buying a used card from somebody. Like what should I be careful with when buying or maybe look if it works

properly or so.

2) Can I stream with the 950?

3) Do you guys think I should buy a used 144hz monitor, really on a thight budget. Used goes for around 190$. Thinking for a BenQ one or perhaps Asus.

4) Now I pretty certain that I can Install all the componets onto the motherboard. Doe I dont fell confident about connecting the psu cables and cable management.

Do you guys have tips for that? or maybe some video out on youtube for installing psu and that. Have looked alot, havent found any helpful ones.

5) Do you guys prefer wireless adapter for gaming? Or should I stick with an ethernet Cable?

6) And last whats your thoughts on this build?

Thankyou for Reading :)

1.  If you're buying used online from a site (like ebay): Check feedback of seller, this is the most important.  If you're buying from a 'meet in person' type of second hand site, then make sure the seller has been using the site for a while before parting with any cash.  Most reputable second hand sites will give you the option to do this.  Also meeting in person allows you to inspect the item before parting with the cash.  Most reputable sellers will even allow you to see the item is working before you part with your money.

2.  Streaming really comes down to your CPU, motherboard and RAM.  If you don't mind a few dropped frames in intense scenes, you should be good :)

3.  Don't worry about 144Hz.  That 950 is never going to push 144fps.  Look for a 75Hz instead and run at 60fps (this will stop tearing)

4.  PSU cables are all keyed, so unless you're forcing plugs where they shouldn't be going you'll be fine.  Youtube has a myriad of cable management videos on there you should check some out :)

5.  Online gaming will never saturate a strong wifi connection so you won't notice any difference just gaming online if it's good.  Ifyou're streaming though i would recommend a wired connection.

6.  I'm sure some others here will have some suggestions for you

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

power supplies with less than 5 year warranty are risky. Why should you be confident in a PSU if those who sell it isnt?

Lack of SSD is also sad

Better stick to 720p, assuming you stream by enabling NVENC in OBS. You arent limited by the graphics card, but the CPU.

If you stream with Nvidia shadowplay instead, then 950 should be fine at 720p. I'm not sure how it will do at 1080p, but I dont think it will be good enough.

I would spend more on the PC itself before considering a high refresh rate monitor, though 144Hz is a lot better than 60Hz

WiFi suck unless the router is nearby. I stick with ethernet cable.

Since the 8100 is just a 4 core 4 thread part with similar performance to an i5-6600 and i5-7500, I would try look for used older i5s first. I know they dont give you an upgrade path to the 6 core CPUs, but you should buy them if they are cheap enough, say 50% as much as going for 8100.

Yeah I will meet the person face to face thought its better.

Well not maybe 144fps in pubg but i will definately have more than 144fps in csgo thats why. Do you think 60hz is enough?

Sorry I didnt understand what you ment about the psu at the end but Could you then perhaps give some links to some better psu around that price range? And why are they risky?

As I said im on a tight budget, later in time that will come aswell ;)

Thankyou

I dont know what Turkish sites to look on, but there's a list

Those ranked tier 3 or higher are good.

They are risky for various reasons. Some lack protection mechanisms that work (say overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection etc), while others use cheap parts that fail within a short period of time (and dont work well before that).

yeah it doesnt. That's why I said old i5 deals must be much cheaper to be any attractive
