OnePlus 6 vs Mi 8

Hey. Im currently in need of a new phone. I have been doubting which one should I buy.

Previously I had a OnePlus 3 but also a Xiaomi Redmi phone aswell. I obviously like the Dash Charger.

If you compare Performance vs Value, which phone would win in the category?

What would you pay for both in your country (and which Storage/Ram variant?)

 

They are indeed very similar.

I personally would probably take the Oneplus 6. The Notch looks much better (smaller), headphone jack, 8gb Ram option (although yet not that much benefit over 6gb).

 

But if the Mi 8 is much cheaper, it might be a good option, if you like MIUI - just not sure how they will handle updates in the future.

Performance is identical, because almost identical specs. So You can determine Value according to the Price alone. Cheaper one = better bang for buck.

But yea.. different aspects. headphone Jack, how the notch looks like and is handled in the software (Can you disable it in MIUI? Can MIUI disable it when you look landscape videos, so it doesnt bother? etc), how will updates come in 1-2 years, how do you personally like the different Software versions, etc.

Mi development is mostly done on their own forums, including Rooting and ROMs

What about LineageOS? like AOSP Based Roms, if one doesn't like MIUI?

 

How... is MIUI performing nowadays? My last MIUI experiences went back to like Galaxy s3 times.

People who hate EMUI hate the MiUI to so yeah depends on taste, I vote for 3.5mm jack option if not SD card slot is more important. :3
