34in ultrawide 1080p?

I've had a few other posts about 4k monitors for upgrading my main display, now I'm looking at one for replacing my older ultrawide that serves as my productivity monitor for video editing and daily work. 

 

How unbearable is 1080p on a 34in ultrawide? I currently have a 1080p 25in ultrawide, and I want more screen space. But I'm hesitant that anything below 1440p on 34in would be too bad. Going for a price effective monitor for screen space mainly. HDR and higher resolution would be nice, but aren't necessary if it means the monitor is less than $400.

Gross. I don't think 1080p has any place on a monitor over 24".

I've got a 34" 1080p LG Ultrawide, and I personally have never had a problem with the resolution - I use it mainly for photo editing and, in free time, games. I'll fully admit that I'm not the pickiest person out there, but I've never agreed with the "34" 1080P is PURE GARBAGE!" camp. Also, when I'm not doing photo editing and using it for general use i.e web browsing, games, etc... I tend to keep windows scaling at about 125%, as I can get migraines and having to strain my eyes to see text that small can really kill my head.

So yeah, that's just my situation! If there are people out there who wouldn't be caught dead with a 34" 1080P that's perfectly fine for them, but I absolutely love my monitor, and doing 1080p vs 1440 was a great way to keep costs down enough to still have a relatively affordable build in the age of hyper expensive gpu's and RAM.

Personally going from a 25” 1080p display to a 1440p 34” display the difference is very noticeable. Got the Acer X34P (Basically a slightly faster X34)

Go to the store and check it out but I don't like 1080p on anything bigger then a 24".

Hi

I own a 1440 21:9 monitor. The down side to them is that that require a lot of GPU. 

When I bought it I had a GTX 980 ti. It was fine for 16:9 1440 but struggled at 21:9. I replaced it with a GTX 1080. That is for 60hz gaming. It now has a GTX 1080 ti.

If you don't have a high end GPU it is best to stay at 1080.
