Will installing a ssd an reinstalling windows void warranty?

Exactly as the title says, will it void warranty if I work on the computer myself. It would be an Asus laptop btw.

Not if you swap out the HDD or SSD, or even install another drive, no.

If you were to say, try and swap the CPU or GPU out then probably.

Depends on warranty policy of Asus in your country. However I would suggest you just upgrade, don't bother much

Probably not, but watch out for those pesky "warranty void if removed" stickers. Even tough they hold no legal ground in court it would still take a lot of effort to get your laptop serviced if they find out you broke one of those stickers.

Windows 10 is now tied to your motherboard, so you can change anything except your motherboard. Which is kinda hard when you are upgrading a computer :P

If you don't come across the notorious 'warranty void if removed' seals when you remove the HDD, then it is highly unlikely that this procedure will void your warranty.

Some service centres indeed don't give a $H!T about it. :P

Although, I assume that if your device is really messed up (severe problems) when you return it for repair/maintenance, they might be less cooperative.

I asked them about this issue before, they said they don't care about the sticker as long as there's no damage

And was it also a laptop? Or another electronic device?
