Should I trade my laptop?

Hey guys so I recently ordered a new gaming pc  for $1500 (US) (8600k, z370m pro4, gtx1070ti, 550w gold, 16gb 2666MHz, 256gb sata m.2+ 7.2k rpm 2tb)

I figured that my current laptop was overkill for me since I now have a desktop to game and edit videos on. (7500u, 940mx). The only thing I needed to do on my laptop was type in office and Google documents and surf the net. Not much else. So I have a few options now.

1) Keep the laptop, reinstall windows, replace dying battery

2) Buy new MacBook Air 13inch 2017 (on sale at $887 usd, $1199 here in sgd)

3) Buy used Macbook Air 11 inch 2015 from reputable seller for $900 sgd ($666 usd)

4) Buy used Macbook Pro 2015 13 inch from listing online (same price as mba)MBA

5) Get another laptop for same price

Can you guys suggest what should I do? MY current laptop is an Asus vivobook k401uqk. I mostly use it for Photoshop, Python and documents.

If you need it for easy tasks I would say the Asus chromebook c202 (250)

If a little bit heavier tasks like light gaming I would suggest the acer aspire 5 (600)

If you only want to type in office and google then a mac would be a dumb choice.

Just get a cheap laptop or chromebook

Chromebooks here in Singapore aren't exactly cheaper than the windows laptops. And I need a laptop that's future proof and doesn't lag much multiple tabs open

To add on to my previous comment I need either a windows laptop or Mac as I need to run certain applications not available on chromebooks. I was looking at a few aspires but they look cheap and are heavy

I don't exactly need a laptop to game as I already have my desktop. I just need a laptop to run basic Photoshop applications, run python codes and is portable with good battery life. Also if I recall correctly I can only find the aspire e5 over here.

Keep the laptop. If it works and performs great for what you need, keep it. Remove all excess files and give it a clean install. What model laptop do you have?

It's an Asus K401UQ-FA075T. I mean it sorta works but the battery is quite bad. I can only get around 2 hours on web browsing. In my programming lesson right now I'm the only few using a windows laptop so it's sorta awkward. So I'm leaning to the Mac side a little.

How much are you willing to spend on a battery?

There is a battery on sale for $60 but it's not an original one. I spent all my money on the desktop so I kinda don't want to spend anymore. I'm thinking of selling the laptop and buying a cheaper one so I can get some money. If I were to get one of the 3 Macs above which one would be more ideal?

Lol but the only reason I need a laptop is to bring it out and use it on battery. The people there don't like me using their outlets. It also pisses me off when others boast about the 12 hour battery life on the macbook air.
