What competition does the Panasonic G7 have?

Hello! 

 

I am in the market for a new camera and the Panasonic Lumix G7 is right in the sweet spot of my budget.  Before deciding that this is the camera for me, what are some of its competitors that offer similar performance that may be a better choice for around the same price? ($500 USD)

nothing comes to mind. a T6i would give you similar pictures but is bigger and doesn't have 4k recording.

A used Sony A6300 can most likley be found for 600US if you are lucky. Just saw one with a 50mm f/1.8 and an L-plate for 750US so. Other than that I don’t know what would compete really.

Well it all depends on what you'll use it for, under what conditions. If you will always have control of lighting, will be manual focusing entirely and only shooting video it is indeed quite hard to beat at the price point. But depending on how much you value each of these things, there may be something else that is a better compromise. There is no perfect camera, or anything for that matter, especially at a $600 price point.

If your main focus is video(,although frankly, I don't really know anything about the cameras' image quality for stills), maybe Canon's M50?

Make sure to tag and/or quote people so they get notified... :P:D
