Lianli PC-O11 Dynamic VS Phanteks Evolv X

Hello everybody!

The trend of desktop ATX cases has been great so far this year. I am looking forward to upgrade my good old NZXT H440.

As the title suggests, what case should I go for, the O11 Dynamic or Evolv X?

I would go for the O11 if you're concerned about airflow, but that Evolv X is still plenty damn fine looking.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I thought the airflow has been greatly improved on the Evolv X...

Both of them have the splendid fish tank/square box ish shape. I cant make a choice for now.

It very well could be greatly improved, but considering the baseline is the Evolv, it's still likely below the airflow potential of the O11. At least by the looks of the Evolv X, front intake still appears extremely restricted in comparison to any location of intake on the O11. That's all without mentioning, if you would like a vertical GPU mount, the Evolv X's is pressed against the glass, destroying the cooling potential of any air cooled card, unlike the O11 which presses it closer to the motherboard than the glass panel.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I'd wait to see the Gamers Nexus review of the Phanteks, then make your decision based on their two reviews.

Don't forget that the Evo X can hold 2 Mobos, and 9 SSD's on the back too! Has PCI-e riser too, so you can fit a EATX and a ITX

I personally don't like the O11, just as it has too much room to fill, and is pretty plain for my taste.

greatly improved over the previous evolv, but considering psu shroud which means lack of bottom airflow, and mostly covered front panel, likely to have higher GPU temps compared to simply adding at least 1 fan on bottom of dynamic. I plan on the dynamic, with 360 aio on side, and 240 up top for CPU and GPU

Good freaking question.  I have the Evolve ATX TG right now and absolutely love it.  The first and only time I have wanted another case was when the Lian-Li dynamic came out and I am in love with that case! To the point that I have had to convince myself that I don't need another machine (custom loop in phanteks case, to much work to redo it).  But with seeing the evolv x, I started thinking that a rework of my hardline would be worth it.  I love both cases but lian-li has a special place in my heart as my first custom build was in a lian case 15 years ago.  In the end my reservoir, which was a nightmare to fit in the original evolve due to being a huge reservoir, will keep me from upgrading to the evolv x.  If there ever was a reason to build a new machine it would be for that lian-li dynamic!!!!

I don't imagine the evo x doing well temp wise with the components as pictured in OP being under load, but we'll have to see what Steve finds

hence "as pictured". It has 3 air cooled GPU's (one pressed up against the side panel), and a downfiring air cooler on main board, with a 120mm AIO for itx being the only AIO lol. while doable, not a suitable implementation of dual systems in one case imo, where it would all have to be nightmarishly routed for custom loop and still not a lot of airflow (presumably, due to mostly covered panels) to dissipate ~700W+ estimated. For a single system, it looks to be very capable, and does look nice.

Indeed, simply looking at these two beautiful cases gives me the sensation of constructing two custom loops for them. :)

Same here man, Lian Li and Silverstone always have the place in my heart. I owned Lian-Li v1000, QB-08, Silverstone TJ07 , TJ09, FT02, FT03 lolz

When Lian Li , Sliverstone making premium cases 10 years ago :

- Corsair Obsidian didn't exist

- NZXT is making budget casing

- Cooler Master Cosmos didn't exist

- Phanteks, Fractal Design does not exist

To me, I always want to see Silverstone/Lian-Li lead the premium market one more time.

Back to the topic, compare those two casing:

- Evolv X built quality is better ( full aluminium)

- Both have great airflow

- PC-O11 Dynamic is better for custom loop ( there are so many options for rad placement)

- Evolv X if you want alot of storages / 2-in-1 setup with ITX/ATX combo

- PC-O11 if you want to show up ur RGB setup lolz
