For photo editing and games. Trying to get the best of both worlds.

Looking at monitor prices for these brands vs the ones out of S.Korea seem like rip offs now.

Here is a suggestion: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Perfect-Pixel-27-Slim-Qnix-QX2710-Evolution-II-LED-PLS-2560x1440-QHD-Monitor-/321237632896?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item4acb414780

Uses a Samsung PLS display and led backlight with 2560x1440 res. No reason to overpay.

There A- Panels usually have terrible backlight bleeding won't look as good as the Asus and there build quality is terrible alot of people have to re flow the boards with a heatgun aswell.

I really wish people would stop recommending korean monitors.

Theres so many other problems that you get with korean monitors. It dies? Oh shit, guess what, have fun waiting a month for anything

Too many dead pixels? refer to above.

Everyone else has much better warranty support, when the korean one has basically none.

The backlight bleededing is awful.

You guys are over exaggerating.

Seems fine to me considering what you're paying for it aside from lack of a ton of inputs -- most people use DVI anyway. And if dead pixels are an issue, you get the "perfect pixel" versions.
