212 Evo fan replacement

any opinion about these I like the black of these doesn't clash like the gray

https://www.amazon.com/quiet-BL070-SILENTWINGS-2200RPM-73-33CFM/dp/B01JMELYJA?th=1

ill also be buying a 4 pin to 2x 4 pin splitter as well

SW3's are excellent and a splitter works fine.

I have the 212 Evo and an 8700k and as you would expect it gets kinda noisy when my CPU is around 80-100% usage (as you would expect). I'm thinking of replacing the fans but I'm not sure whats best/even compatible I did have a spare cooler master case fan that I had spare but it wasn't compatible with the bracket. I'm not looking for extreme performance insane overclocks I would just like 2 quiet fans that look nice.

and before anyone recommends me a bigger cooler see picture

I wish I could but any bigger heatsink won't fit and anything that's a similar size won't fit

While, yes I could remove the verticle mount I've had abysmal luck with the fans on the GPU. Zotac seems to use really shit sleeve bearing fans I had both fans on a 1080 mini start making a very annoying grinding noise less than 2 years (they didn't fail at the same time and I rma'd each time which has been expensive) after I bought it. I did notice if I put the case on its side the grinding noise would go away but my case wasn't made to sit that way so I got a verticle mount.

You could manage your cable to reduce heat and fan workload.

There are bigger heatsinks of the same height (just larger in width).

yeah I haven't had time to fix it up but there isn't much I could do the PSU wires don't bend that well compared to others I've noticed

Also, what heatsink would you recommend?

Odd. Bracket screws onto fan so any 120mm fan would be compatible.

ugh annoyingly all 120mm coolers that are better are often 123mm to 125mm wide, but from how tight the 120mm wide 212 evo fits in there just isnt room to fit other 120s without bumping into the graphics card's shroud. Without modding the graphics card shroud and fans, you cant use a new heatsink that's beneficial.

how did you try fit the second fan? My 212 evo has 2 clips that were screwed onto the fan and clips the heatsink. Maybe take off the one on the underside of the current fan, screw that on top of the added fan and try clip that onto the heatsink?

I got this kit and put two fans on the front of the case and the other I put on my 212 EVO with the spare brackets so I know for a fact it will work.

You can also get just one fan.  What I noticed is that these hum a tiny bit louder at idle than stock fans but under load are quieter.

My temps are acceptable generally are around 70c maybe 80-85c if I seriously stress it it's just getting noisy and I'd like either a quieter fan(or 2) or if it's good price wise switch to a better one

I'm shopping around on Amazon and newegg and I am located in Massachusetts

I have these (but in the 140mm varient), and they're the quietest damn fans I've never heard. Ive got three of them and I have to strain to hear them. That being said, you might have to consider a different cooler.

The fans I linked (and I imagine the Noctua ones too, although I've never used them because of the color) probably won't make any performance difference. They'll be quieter, but a cooler that small (relatively speaking) can only dissipate so much heat. You need a better cooler. You should consider the H7 or H7 Luma if you don't want to spend too much. The latter is RGB, but only the logo. It's got an extra heat pipe though.

My temps are fine I'd rather just get some quieter fans then pay more for the h7

If your temps were fine then your fan wouldn't be loud. And as you discovered, the 212 Evo isn't designed to have replacement fans. You can remove the pads and attach the bracket to a new fan, but it's one time adhesive so it won't work super well. You'll still have the problem of a new fan spinning super fast too.

If you get a quality cooler then the fan won't be struggling to keep the temps down. I get not wanting to spend more money, but the cheapest option is rarely the best. The magnetic fans I linked to will be quieter as they have reduced friction, but moving air is still loud.

Can you post pic? Knowing how brackets work, I'm in belief that all 120mm fans will fit. You screw bracket to the side which you want to face to heatsink and then latch it into place.

Yes, any fan with standard 120m mounts should work fine. What fans did you get?

The pads are sandwiched snuggly between the cooler heatsink and fan so the adhesive doesn't need to be strong.

I saw those pads but don't you screw in the adapter onto the fan itself?

and the fans were some sickle flow 120mm with a red led

r4-l2r-20ar-r1

I didn't buy them to replace the fan on the Evo they were for something else

it's hard to see but theirs some plastic on the fan itself blocking the adapter

Yes, the adapters are screwed onto the fan and the pads sit on top of the screws to dampen the fan vibrations.

Sickleflows fit fine.

The adapter is supposed to be on top of and not under the fan frame.

I feel like an idiot I most likley will change fans however I'm not 100% sure the fans can have their speeds controlled I haven't had the chance to check

Also what is the difference with 3 pin fans and 4 pin fans?

3pin fans have pins for ground, voltage, and reporting rpm. They can be controlled using variable voltage. 4pin fans have an additional 4th pin for receiving a pwm signal and an IC to modulate 12v input for control.

Whether control is supported or not depends on the header you power the fans from and not the fans themselves. Most modern motherboards have a good amount of fan control options for each header and the cpu_fan header usually supports pwm.

What motherboard do you have?

Just for clarity (I'm sure you know this), they can't be controlled that well. For example, I can't get mine to go below 50% of the max speed.
