Recently my brother bought an SSD and wanted to transfer his installation of Windows 10 to it, rather than reinstalling Windows we decided to use a program to migrate windows. For some weird reason the program turned his 240 GB SSD into a 150 GB one (that's the size of his old HDD). Anyway, long story short we decided to reinstall Windows, we got an installation USB key and went to it. Since his product key was not on a sticker on the computer we used a program called "Produkey" to get it, but when we typed it in it "wasn't valid" but we decided to keep going with the installation anyway and activate Windows later. We thought that maybe it couldn't verify the product key since the computer connects wirelessly to the house's network, and without the drivers installed the adapter wouldn't work. But even once we got windows installed and gotten connected to the internet windows still wouldn't activate and gave him the same error.

What is actually supposed to go here? Some people put their specs, others put random comments or remarks about themselves or others, and there are a few who put cryptic statements.

The keys can be found in the Registry; If you aren't comfortable with finding it. You can contact Microsoft directly through live chat and they will provide you with your key. It takes about 5 minutes.

That's what the "Produkey" program was supposed to do.
