Yeah, it does. Why would a company manufacture a mainstream power supply that can't support a mainstream desktop motherboard?

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

Are you not gonna get an SSD when you can afford a 1080 and an 8700K...? Are you absolutely certain you want that outdated case, and the optical drive? You can install Windows with a USB flash drive, you know.

Added a 120MM fan that should be identical to the ones on your AIO so you can put that fan at the back. Added an SSD so your system isn't slow as molasses in 1 month after installing Windows, added a better case with more airflow, cut the optical drive cuz I just don't believe you really need one in 2018 (and you can get an external one anyways), added a PSU to the system parts list, added faster RAM for less money, swapped out the 1080 for a 1070 Ti since they're essentially the same, and you can OC the 1070 Ti and it will perform marginally better than the 1080, and... I think that's it.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Your files open much faster, your PC boots much faster, your whole OS is much snappier.

I don't have a hard drive in any PC. I promise you I won't be going back. It's a nightmare to defrag your OS drive, and it's always slowest right when you need it to be. You never need to defrag an SSD, you don't hear an SSD, load times of absolutely everything is so much faster. Seriously, get yourself an SSD. Windows also installs in less than half the time, updates don't slow down your use of the PC... I just can't imagine why you want to spend over 1k on a PC and can't be bothered to put an SSD in it.

The case isn't super important but I don't see why you wouldn't get a better case for less money. I also don't see why you need an ODD and you didn't specify why you need one.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

ATX doesn't necessarily have better airflow, just by the way. A Define Mini C has better airflow than an H440, for a random example.

Again, do you need an optical drive? Is there any reason you can't get a USB one?

The better case I recommended in my parts list before, the Meshify C, would be a good fit. Has amazing airflow too.

The PSU isn't great, but everything else looks fine. You can get a cheaper SSD if it's not really in your budget. An A-DATA SU800 is basically just as good and a lot cheaper. Also the EVGA NEX is a pretty bad group-regulated unit and is outclassed by other EVGA units at the same pricepoint like the G2/G3/GQ/GS/B2. So perhaps look into those EVGA units or something like a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold.

Again, a 1070 Ti and 1080 are basically the same, and you can OC the 1070 Ti to be better than a 1080. Your choice though. And again, for that case.

But yeah, it looks a lot better with that PSU in there as well as the SSD.

The difference is like 2min Windows boot and 20 Seconds or so.

And it gets worse while working with it, its not (just) about files opening.

Just get an SSD and try it - it will blow you away.

Well not on a Playstation 4 but for a PC, absolutely!

The old HDD you can still use for Files like your old holiday pictures and videos ;-)

OK people really need to stop recommending 450W PSUs for 8700K/1080 Tis. That can pull 500+ watts when overclocked.

Still. 450W easily when overclocked.

A 1070Ti draws 216w absolute max, so unless you have a 200w CPU (under gaming load no less) 450w is _more_ than plenty.
