You better get a hazmat suit to go near that PC... Anyways, the dirtiest computer I've ever dealt with was my Dell XPS 410. I had cleaned it in Spring of 2017, and it had never been opened since 2006. Surprisingly, it still worked really well, even though there was literally a centimeter thick pad of dust on every intake filter, completely blocking airflow.

I remember I opened up a PC from 2000 (this was in 2010) and for some reason the person who stripped the PC of parts didn't bother cleaning it at all.

Dust. Spider eggs. Bugs. It was awful.

I do remember seeing a computer on Reddit or something that had a full on cricket infestation and had piles of feces and dead crickets

I doubt I've ever wanted to throw up so much at the sight of a PC like that

I've had 3 PCs that were all really dirty.

Dust, spider webs, the whole deal.

All over everything. It wasn't caked up too badly, but it was still a pain to clean.

This stuff is as clean as a hospital operating theatre compared to some old PCs and servers that I have worked on. I don't know if it is just South Africa or what but those things had so much dust the fans wouldn't even spin. I WISH I had pictures.

I don't work, still go to school. Sometimes I help my father at his work and fix people's computers.

Interesting facts in my dad's office:

- Dell laptops fail the most (motherboard or power circuitry always fails, sometimes overheating)

- HP laptops are second (always overheating that kills something on the board)

- Lenovo laptops do alright but hinges constantly break, the older IBM Thinkpads had the lowest failure rate in the office, they are old though and have all been upgraded.

I got an old Sun server from around 2004 (SunFire X4100 Series) with 2x AMD Opteron 254 CPUs and 8GB RAM with 2 WD Black 750GB drives in RAID. Very old but good enough for a router or Minecraft server. It was one of the dustiest ones I had. Apparently they used it as their deployment testing server to test how new features of their software would work. It was replaced long ago with much faster servers and just sat in a corner for many years until I got it. Unfortunately it is dead today and I am still trying to get it to work.
