Keep saving until next generation GPUs come out, everything is horribly overpriced right now.

Either a new card at the end of this year, or a used 980ti. Probably a 980 if 980ti is too expensive. R9 Fury is also an option if you get a good deal.

i would look for a used GTX 980ti or a used GTX 1070...

If you personally cannot wait for the next generation of cards or cannot find a used card that is better I am currently using a MSI GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X Variant which i have paired with a i5 4670 Watercooled (as with an air cooler it was thermal throttling at an 80% load and my case isnt big enough for anything other than a low profile air cooler and now the temp doesn't go above 75% even at 100% load), with this setup i have been able to run Far Cry 5 Max settings no problem and Crysis 3 Max settings 1080p no problem and many other games (although i cannot tell you exact frame rates as my monitor has some weird scaling issues (cannot see the edge of my screen and will be upgrading soon) and only displays 60 FPS but it is still smooth with this setup)
