Im planning on upgrading the gpu

Yes, and?
I'm using a 550W PSU with TWO Tahitis in the GHz Version -> 7970GHz/280X.

And I am still under 550W!

So what are you planning that you need more than 550W??

Then why all calculations websites give me suggestions always 600W or more

Because they are useless, and overestimate by a ton. The brands have higher margins on the higher wattage models, and want to sell more of them.

Also, just check the internal differences between the RM550x and RM650x:

Not worth it in my opinion.

Because they calculate with bullshit/worst case TDP Values.

Just try adding more DIMMs or remove them, adding HDDs and removing them. And look by mow much the calculated Value change.

And now think a bit about heatsinking, how huge the heatsinks for even 10W Power Consumption are.

A HDD can use up to 50W - for a couple of Milliseconds, the normal operation of IDE Drives is something like 700mA on +5V and +12V.

PSU Calculators regularly work with 50W for a HDD....

Best smps for your build. Corsair cs650m or corsair rm750i.

If you want to go cheap you can go with coolermaster masterwattelite 650 watt

Or corsair vs650

?!

No...

The ones you recommended aren't that good, Corsair CS Series is EOL for a Decade, RM750i is just overkill, thus a waste of money.

And Master Watt Lite and VS650 are group regulated -> voltages can be forced out of Spec with load because +5V and +12V are dependent on each other.

That's why nobody here recommends those, especially in 650W, because you can get better quality PSU for the same amount of money. For example the be quiet Pure Power 10 Series (400W or up), Corsair CX Series (450W doesn't have two PCIe)
