Does Gsync depend on anything other than a display in a laptop

i am ordering a custom built laptop with Clevo P750TM1 barebone that already has a gsync enabled panel LG LP156WF6-SPB1. but the website is asking another 100 $ for gsync. What does it mean does gsync demends on anything other than  a display panel and gpu?  http://www.eurocom.com/ec/configure(2,431,0)SkyX4C

They need to pay the license free I presume.

"G-sync" Laptops just use the Adaptive Sync standard Free Sync uses, as in there's no extra hardware like in G-sync monitors.

Basically just a rip off.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Is it possible that the Gsync module is for the display ports for external monitor?

G-sync laptops have no modules at all.

You can't just get G-sync/adaptive sync over a connection, so no on that front, monitor has to be built with it in mind.

just have a look at the link i gave look at the configure tab, you can see under gsync technology they offer gsync for an additional 96$ even though the laptop panel LP156WF6-SPB1 already supports gsync.

yeah, like he said...it's a rip off...if your tech savy a bit do your research you can probably find the driver that will enable gsync on this lap top for free.

might want to start here: https://www.eteknix.com/gsync-achieved-display-without-gsync-module/
