No. You cannot SLI those cards together, just like you can't SLI a 1080 and a 1070.

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

 

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

if you get a gaming X 1070Ti it would work tough. you need two identical chips for SLI to work, it doesn't matter what brand the card is as long as the chips on both are the same. (so 1080 with 1080, 1070Ti with 1070Ti, etc)

You mean now isn't. Many AAA games had decent 80%+ scaling now it's -40%

How is DX12 and Vulkan doing? Heard Vulkan finally got anouther title out this year, good for Vulkan. Up to what, 5% adoption with DX12? Good on Microsoft. Any year now that'll take off.

All depends on when unity/Unreal/others get in on it

 

Depends on when tools make it easier to use such as the above

 

And kind of depends on console makers

Microsoft is back of the bus this Gen, little hope of making up ground with flops like Pirates of the Boredom. Sony rules the roost. Developers not in Sony's pocket mostly look to PC, and Vulkan and DX12 cost more money to develop on. DX11 is easy, well supported, and no where close to being replaced. Not about performance anymore, it's selling games'n making money. 

 

You're right though SLI is a waste of time, run a single more powerful graphics card. *see not about performance but money
