Hard Drive load 95-100%

Hi! This is Masud Rana. I want to know about hard drives, I use windows 10 64 bit operating system pc with pentium g4560, ddr4 hyperx fury 4 gb ram, when i work in adobe softwares, or in normal use sometimes the hard drive loads 100% only when 20-30 mbps, why? hampers my work very badly. Because in my sense sata 3 can transfer very much data, but only some amount of mb's it loads 100%. please give me any idea. THanks!

Are you dealing with small files? Hdd's don't have great random read speeds or access times so 20-30mbps may be normal.

Do you see the expected speeds when you run a benchmark like CrystalDiskMark?

Moved to Storage Devices.

This isn't a brand new drive, it has 930 hours.

Id rma it if you can.

Why do you have 4 partitions on this drive?

A hdd is very slow compared to a hdd, and you only have 4gb of ram so you probably swapping a lot.

You want more ram and a ssd here.

A hdd is much slower under random workloads, you won't see the max sata speed here.

all drives will fail. Its probably nothing you did. They will die randomly. Just keep backups and you won't lose any data.
