i5 8600k + gtx 1080 for pubg

Celach

Hello, im looking to buy a gaming pc soon and was wondering how the performance on 1080p was on pubg with an i5 8600k + gtx 1080. Im playing on 144 hz so im looking for good framerates (120+). I used to have an r5 1600 + 1070 ti and it was far from enough to achieve good fps (was getting 60-120 fps depending on the zone 2 months ago, idk if it has gotten any better in terms of optimization), so im wondering how this combo would work on it.

Its not the only game i play but it used to be the only game i had issues running. Also wondering on the performance with an 8700k or an 1080 ti if anyone has any experience.

I know those gpus may be overkill for 1080p but i just like high fps over res

no point jumping over to a 1080, oc the 1070ti and it'll perform about the same.

pubg is horribly optimized, just about any cpu will have problems with it.

Absolutely no reason to upgrade

Sorry to hear that man! People are crap sometimes.

Anyways I wouldn't worry about pubg performance a ton as it's a difficult game and tough on cpu's.  At any rate if you're doing a new build and 8600k + 1080 are in your budget it'll be some great performance and probably better than your last one

Build something like this ....

CPU: Intel - Core i5-8600K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: NZXT - Kraken X62 Rev 2 98.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: ASRock - Z370 Extreme4 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
Storage: Crucial - MX500 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB STRIX Video Card
Case: Phanteks - ECLIPSE P400S TEMPERED GLASS ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Well....to be honest.....I didn't feel much of a difference going from an 8600k to 8700k.....I got almost similar frame rates.....the build that I have shared above will cost around $1500-1600 USD.....But it's surely bang fr the buck....

Also, 8600k is arguably the best overclocking chip ever made.....got it to 5.2ghz stable OC with a h100i...

SSD TIER LIST
