Is my 750W PSU good enough?

IsaacThePooper

These are my current specs here:

  • Ryzen 5 1600 3.8GHz/1.25V
  • 4x4GB DDR4 2133MHz
  • GT 710
  • GTX 980 Ti (water cooled and overclocked)
  • GTX 970
  • 250GB M.2 SSD
  • 120GB SSD
  • 1TB Hard Drive
  • EVGA CLC 280
  • 5 fans

So I'm just wondering f this can all be power sufficient enough under load with my current power supply which is an EVGA SuperNova 750W Bronze Semi Modular? Note, the GTX 970 is a PhysX card.

To be honest I'd take out the 710 and 970.

Which "Supernova 750W Bronze Semi Modular" is it? If it's the B1/NEX-B, seriously consider replacing it. For wattage, it should be fine, although I'm still wondering what you are thinking with the 3 GPUs.

He's right I'd remove the gt710 and gtx970 I don't think they would play nicely with each other (since SLI only works with two of the same kind i.e. 2 gtx980s or 2 gtx970s also you'd have to check if the motherboard and the GPUs support SLI) besides its gonna a pain in the ass trying to bridge them together. I know I had overheating issues with my two of my gigabyte g1 gaming gtx980s. Once that is done I think your PSU should sufficient.

Motherboard: Asus Z97-Deluxe, Processor: Intel i7-4790K@4.3GHz@1.150Volts, GPU: Asus ROG GTX980 Matrix (with a NZXT G10 bracket and a nzxt x41 AIO liquid cooler), Ram: Kingston HyperX 32GB 1866MHz CL10, PSU: Corsair Hx1200i, Storage: 1TB Seagate SSHD with a Kingston HyperX Fury 240GB SSD, Display: BenQ XL2411Z, Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB, Mouse: Razer Deathadder chroma.

Guys the GT 710 is just a 5th monitor GPU for youtube and the 970 is just a PhysX card

See the problem.

If YOU don't know what to do with the Card, it probably doesn't even make much sense...

Seriously? It's been running with no problems for the past 3 years, here's a link of it: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ZNXfrH/evga-power-supply-110b10750vr

I like the look of it and they do have their own uses, the 970 is a PhyX card and the GT 710 is a 5th monitor card for youtube.

Yep, ancient, group regulated FSP unit - shitty since 2005 or 6...

The 710 seems to make sense.

The 970 not so much.

Especially since there ain't no PhysX Games no more these days.

So you are talking about older Games like Borderlands 2.

And even if, its mostly bullshit . that doesn't matter anyway...

But when we talk about older games anyway, then the 1070 is more than sufficient...

Huh, I guess I'll try to get a newer PSU. I overclocked my GTX 980 Ti and it runs better than my friend's 1080, also SLI scalability is better than Pascal, so I'm not getting a 1070.

No need to change your GPU I still have a gtx980 and it runs most games without a hitch but to answer your question about the power supply I think get a 1000 or maybe a 1200 watt power supply it might be overkill but think of it this way once you buy it you'd be set for life with that PSU. Good luck man hope these answers helped in any way.

Nononono. Unless you have Vega 64 in CF you won't use that much.

A OCed 7900X with 2 1080 Tis will use a bit less than 850W.

I used to have a NEX 750 B1.

I don't have the tools to do so, but it has terrible ripple and bad voltage regulation.

Also it has a loud fan :P

A good PSU starts from $25-30 nowdays. Something like the CX450/450M, then the MasterWatt, up to the G2/G3/TXM/RMx/Focus Plus. All under $80 usually for 450/550W variants. (progressing in price)
