Galaxy S8+ says it's up to date but isn't

HI! Incredibly frustrated Galaxy S8+ user here! Saw my friend with a show/hide button for his navigation bar and I wanted it. Checked my settings, wasn't there. Checked to see if I was up to date, my phone says it is. Checked version numbers: Android Version 7.0 and Samsung Experience version 8.1

Oreo rolled out for AT&T users a month ago and my phone says it's up to date. What's the deal? Where is my update? I have no idea what the Hell is going on with this thing and i'm about to go berserk on this piece of crap. Can someone help?

Galaxy S8+/Verizon owner here. I got my update a month ago too. Have you gone into Android settings and looked up "Check for updates"?
