I am planning to buy this pc build:

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/MHMD185/saved/Wvqjcf

And I have a few questions about it.

1 - is everything compatible, will the ATX Psu work with my MicroATX MotherBoard? Does the case fans and the cpu cooler all fit?

2 - is it overclockable? I wont be overclocking my PC but I am just chroius to know.

3 - could it bottleneck or will it run normally?

4 - Do I need to buy any cables or anything else at all? I got thermal compound but I don't know if I will need maybe a power cable or some wierd cable for the pc parts.

5 - Do you think that it is fine or should it be changed a little bit for better results?

Is this an upgrade?

If it isn't, please don't buy that. That's a FX.

You're going to catch a lot of grief by going with a last-gen CPU. If it works for you, then don't sweat it. Just know it's probably not the best bang for the buck.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

You mean last-last-last-last-last-last gen CPU.

It's from the Sandy Bridge era

The i5 8400 has a 3.8ghz all core turbo which is the common clock speed for the Ryzen 5 1600 overclocked, and its IPC is much superior.

I'd personally go with a 1600 for higher clock speed that the i5.

The i5 has a higher turbo and higher ipc though. For gaming it's superior, and unless op is doing something requiring lots of multi core performance I'd stick to the 8400

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I agree with your revised build, but I would not take this motherboard for gaming. It does only have 2 fan headers, it looks super ugly and it doesn't seem to have any heat sink on it. Furthermore, I don't wanna know how the BIOS looks like and the audio sounds like.

At least take a GIGABYTE B360 AORUS GAMING 3 or even a ASUS ROG STRIX B360

Although, if this build is purely for gaming, then go for the i3-8350K and z370 motherboard
