I have one ethernet cable to connect to 2 pcs, will this work?

VicRik

Hi guys,

My girlfriend and I want to setup her setup in my room for a week. Only one ethernet cable comes up to my room. Will this device work to split the ethernet cable into 2 usable signals? Thanks!

that is a phone switch lmao

use this https://smile.amazon.com/TP-Link-Ethernet-Splitter-Unmanaged-TL-SF1005D/dp/B000FNFSPY/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1524594474&sr=1-3&keywords=ethernet+switch

or if you have gigabit, use this

just power it, pit a line of ethernet connection into any plug (use 5 its easier) then plug in 4 other connections to other devices

If your desktop pc has two Ethernet ports - or one Ethernet port and a wireless adapter - you could potentially connect her pc to yours and you would only need a crossover cable at most. But... switches are super cheap so unless time or money are extremely limited I'd recommend getting one of those instead. I have a D-Link 8-port TL-SG1008D switch that is about $15, but for about $10 you can get the 4/5 port version.

The switch option is much easier and means you can hook other devices up too in future.
