Why noone buying my 1070?

I have a post on Craigslist for a brand-new msi gtx 1070 itx aero for 520$ and no-one has messaged me in 2 months why?

For one, $520 is high even in this market. A brand new Zotac Mini GTX 1070 costs $490, your card costs $525 new (and in all likelihood no one is going to go with your card just to save $5, unless they have to pay taxes on a new card). There also may not be a lot of interest in your area.

 

Try /r/hardwareswap on Reddit. They'll let you know what it is worth and you can sell it there.

It not worth anywhere near 520$ so those who realize that, pass over it. Plain and simple. You will only find silly miners who may buy it at that price.. that card should be way cheaper, regardless if its new or not on a 2nd hand site.

A card without warranty that is barely 10% cheaper than another option or where the same card can be found for 10$ more. No wonder nobodyis buying it. Selling used means you accept about a 30% revenue loss.

A GTX 1080 new on massdrop is 615. Someone wanting a 1070 is already getting "not the best" card, so they're not going to want to pay a premium for it, especially when they can get a 1080 for $95 more from a reputable website.

Way too high of a price. Especially for an ITX card, which most people aren't going to be interested in. Most people buying a rig that would have a 1070 in it care a little about aesthetics, and the ITX card looks retarded in a full sized tower.

It only has warranty if you haven't registered it, and you have the receipt that's paid for in cash.

One thing I don't think I saw anyone touch on is, did OP just post a single instance of the ad or have they been reposting it often enough so it stays near-ish to the top to get visibility?

(I've never used craigslist so not sure how long things stay up after being posted)

That's a good point. I've scored a lot of good deals digging at the bottom of the Craigslist lists.

Generally I'd redo my ads about once a week.

Another factor is that Craigslist doesn't get that much exposure outside of your local area, try Ebay.

Aero is MSi's entry level junk, you know how they get the binned chips, the best ones for their top of the line cards with higher default clocks? well the Aero line up is the very opposite all those worse chips that fail their factory overclocks are dumped into the Aero line up.

 

I think $450 is a more fair pricing.

Your problem is that the price is too high. You're not going to get any offers for that card above maybe 450.
