would i notice 2000mhz to 2050mhz

i have a zotac 1080 ti and just by changing the power mode i can get it to 2000mhz do i need to go any more and the best i can get it to is 2050mhz but it doesn't pass on one of the bench marks but passes on heaven

not really dial it back. Stability > 50Mhz (2.5% clock increase)

You wont notice that tiny improvment in performance when ignoring numbers. Besides, air cooled Zotac 1080tis have poor VRM cooling, and you're just pushing them to run hotter.

yeah i didn't know this before i got it i wanted to water cool it at on point but dont think they do one for it

That depends. If you have V-sync on and 2000Mhz is getting you 59 fps you'll only be seeing an effective 30fps on a 60hz monitor, but if 2050Mhz pushes your fps to 60 or 61 then you'll be getting the full 60. So that would be a hugely noticeable difference. If you have a g-sync monitor however the difference is irrelevant.

i have g sync i play at 1440p and get about 155 to 180

I think if you're scraping for the 60th frame on a game like that you need to lower settings?

50mhz of difference on the core clock of a 1080 Ti is irrelevant as stated, real world performance will not be affected.

Yeah turn down one single setting from the in-game graphical settings makes a lot more sense than going nuts on how to overclock a GPU a tiny little bit further... most likely it'll just crash any ways in graphically demanding games like The Witcher 3, I know my old TITAN X Maxwell seemed stable at 1581mhz core clock but it would crash in the game after 20 to 40 minutes always, dialing back down just to 1571 solved it at the expense of no noticeable fps difference.

I mean yah if you have a stable oc might as well oc anyway free frames, but pushing it like this with stability issues, nah
